Seven Injured in Westminster Pike Truck Crash
September 10, 2025
On Saturday, several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving an ambulance and a tractor-trailer that shut down all lanes of I-795 at Westminster Pike. Baltimore County Police reported that a Carroll County ambulance, which was responding to a call in Baltimore County, was struck broadside at the intersection by a speeding tractor-trailer. The impact caused both vehicles to crash into others nearby.
Authorities said seven people were injured in the wreck. Two Carroll County firefighter paramedic/EMTs who were inside the ambulance were flown to Sinai Hospital, where they are now listed in stable condition. Other victims were treated at the scene before being taken to surrounding hospitals.
The tractor-trailer was carrying fuel, but officials confirmed the tank was not damaged and no leaks were found.
A local business owner who recorded the crash described it as “one of the most violent crashes he has recorded.” He noted that the intersection, where three highways merge, is notoriously hazardous. State crash data shows that seven accidents have already occurred at the location this year, five of which resulted in injuries.
Baltimore County Police are leading the investigation, which is ongoing. Maryland State Police and the Baltimore County Crash Team also responded and are assisting with the investigation.
