Fiery Tractor-Trailer Accident on Woodrow Wilson Bridge Causes Fatality

Fiery Tractor-Trailer Accident on Woodrow Wilson Bridge Causes FatalityA fiery tractor-trailer accident occurred on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and caused a fatality and multiple personal injuries. Shortly before 11 am, on Wednesday morning, in Forest Heights, Maryland, the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of his truck and slammed into a truck that was shielding a boom truck on the bridge. Both the tractor-trailer and the boom truck ignited, and one of the worker’s cars set on fire after the initial blaze. Four crew members, three of whom were working over the side of the bridge, sustained a spate of personal injuries, and seven other individuals required medical attention after the fiery tractor-trailer accident.

Enormous tractor-trailers may be challenging to operate for even skilled truck drivers, especially in narrower areas such as bridges. In some cases, negligence may play a part in a serious truck accident if the driver fails to reduce their speed, experiences driver fatigue, or engages in reckless driving. Tractor-trailer accidents may lead to serious injuries as well as potential fatalities.
