Medical Malpractice Law Firm in Maryland: What is the Client Center?March 19, 2012
In 2011, the American Bar Association took a survey about extranets. They found that 72% of law firms with 500 or more attorneys use an extranet to serve clients, but only 6.4% of smaller firms do the same. Lexis Nexis closes this gap with their Client Center, and we have collaborated with them to use it. Many smaller law firms share documents with their clients via file sharing services such as DropBox or YouSendIt. However, state bars caution attorneys against using these sorts of cloud data sites, citing lack of security to protect attorney-client privileged information.
The Client Center, however, is built in directly to our website. It’s an online client collaboration portal, where we can easily and quickly exchange documents and case information with you—all in a secure environment. We can share calendars, contacts, tasks, and other case-relevant information directly from our site to you, saving you time and money. And we do all this while still maintaining attorney-client privilege.
